William Brown Receives GCRC Research Cluster Funding

Congratulations to Dr. William Brown on receiving a 2025 Grant for Catalyzing Research Clusters (GCRC) for his project Cinema Thinks The World! This project will bring together scholars and practitioners from across disciplines to foster interdisciplinary research, explore ways to dewesternise and decolonise film, and develop partnerships that straddle practice and research.

Mila Zuo’s “Vulgar Beauty: Acting Chinese in the Global Sensorium” Wins Association for Asian American Studies Book Award

Dr. Mila Zuo has received the top prize from the the 2024 Association for Asian American Studies Book Awards, for Vulgar Beauty: Acting Chinese in the Global Sensorium, an exploration of the affective racialization of Chinese female film stars and representations of beauty.
