From the William Head Penitentiary to the Ottawa Fringe, Professor Stephen Malloy’s work that he directed, dramaturged, wrote and recorded the music for, ran this summer in unusually diverse venues.
The Associate Professor, in Acting and Directing and the Graduate Advisor MFA Directing Program, dramaturged and directed Inside Out, written and performed by Patrick Keating and produced by Neworld Theatre. This summer the show played the Uno Fest in Victoria with Intrepid Theatre, Solo Fest with Festival Players in Picton, Ontario, and had an invited presentation at William Head penitentiary which is 25 kilometres west of Victoria, BC.
For a dance piece for choreographer/dancer Cathy Kyle entitled raw footage, he wrote and recorded the music. Presented last year at the Odd Box Theatre in Ottawa, it was remounted this June at the Ottawa Fringe Festival.
