About

Rami Katz is a Vancouver-based filmmaker and holds an MFA from the University of British Columbia, where he received the H. Norman Lidster Prize in Documentary Filmmaking. His documentary The Issue of Mr. O’Dell premiered at Full Frame ’18, where it received the President’s Award, and was selected to screen at nearly twenty festivals across North America. The film made its broadcast premiere on the Knowledge Network, and is available to view online at Roar Magazine.

Rami is an RIDM Talent Lab and Oregon Documentary Camp alumni and has received support from the Canada Council, the BC Arts Council, and Creative BC. He has served as a juror for the Canadian Cinema Editors awards and the Yorkton Film Festival, and as a screening committee member for VIFF and DOXA. He currently works as a freelance director for CBC Arts and as an Adjunct Professor for UBC’s Film Production program.
