Jiang (Harry) Hanyang is a PhD candidate in Theatre Studies at the University of British Columbia, under the guidance of Professor Siyuan Liu. His research interests include the Stanislavsky System of acting; the history and theory of Russian Theatre; stage acting and spoken drama actor training in Modern China; cross-ethnic casting; plus the interrelationship between theatre, emotion, body, and mind. Harry’s writings have appeared or will be forthcoming in Stanislavski Studies, Theatre Research International, CHINOPERL: Journal of Chinese Oral and Performing Literature, Asian Theatre Journal, and Twenty-First Century (Bimonthly).
