About

Dmitri Lennikov is the Film Collections Coordinator for the Department of UBC Theatre and Film, responsible for maintaining the Department’s extensive (and growing) film collection at the Visual Resources Centre.

Dmitri has been fascinated with film ever since he learned how to speak, with trips to the movies or the local video store always being a favourite pastime. In secondary school, he began writing film reviews and interviews for Youthink Magazine, a high school magazine published in BC and Alberta. While studying at UBC, completing his Bachelors of Science degree in Computer Science, he took several courses on film, expanding his knowledge on a variety of topics such as Asian Horror Cinema and Cult Films. Working for the UBC Department of Asian Studies previously, helping with AV and technical issues as well as producing posters and other marketing assets for events, he is excited to be bringing his creative and technical knowledge to this position.
