Angela Morrison is a first-year Cinema and Media Studies PhD student. She received both her BA and MA from the University of Toronto’s Cinema Studies Institute, where she completed a Major Research Paper focusing on melodrama and affect in the works of Xavier Dolan. Her current research is focused on the intersections of melodrama, camp, and queerness across a range of moving image media, from narrative film to reality television such as RuPaul’s Drag Race. She also works as a freelance film and music critic.

What do you consider your greatest achievement?

Finishing both my Bachelor’s and Master’s during a tumultuous period in my personal life.

Which talent would you most like to have?

The ability to cook!

If you could have dinner with someone fictional/real, who would it be?

Dolly Parton.

If you were to die and come back as a person or a thing, what would it be?

A cat.
