UBC Film Production Alumna Shannon Kohli
We’re thrilled to announce that three of five of the 2014 MPPIA Short Film Pitch candidates selected are from UBC Film.
For eight consecutive years, the MPPIA Short Film Award has become a highlight at the Whistler Film Festival, as some of BC’s brightest emerging directors vie on stage before a jury of industry professionals for the sought after filmmaking prize. The successful candidate receives a $10,000 cash award from MPPIA, a $5,000 cash award from Creative BC, plus in-kind production services up to $100,000 for a short film project to be completed within one year after receiving the Award. The completed project will premiere at the 2015 Whistler Film Festival.
Based on an adjudication process administered by Creative BC our current MFA Film Production student Juliana Constantinescu (Pitch: SAY YOU’RE SORRY) along with BFA Film Production alumni Paul Furminger (JAPANTOWN) and Shannon Kohli, (MAN-DATE) have been selected to pitch their films to the judges.
