UBC Theatre Alumni Accept Teaching Appointments at Kansas State University

David Mackay (BFA 1990) and Melissa Poll (BFA 2000, MA 2006), have accepted teaching appointments at Kansas State University.

David will be an Assistant Professor in Acting/Directing while Melissa will be an Adjunct Professor; both in the School of Music, Theatre and Dance.

Speaking about the exciting new opportunities ahead, Melissa noted that her experiences at UBC have primed her for teaching at Kansas State:

“I’m most excited about teaching “Intro to Theatre” as I taught the course at UBC and was able to build on the incredible experience I had in Peter Loeffler’s Theatre 120 in 1996. He was an outstanding prof and showman; I hope to bring his spirit and enthusiasm to K-State!”

The School of Music, Theatre, and Dance is part of the College of Arts and Sciences; the largest of the nine university colleges. The Theatre Program has 12 full-time faculty members and a student population of approximately 150 majors, minors and graduate students. The Theatre Program offers the Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, and Master of Theatre which includes a thriving Drama Therapy graduate program.

Congratulations, David and Melissa, on securing appointments at such a dynamic arts program!
