THEATRE STUDIES HONOURS BA ALUMNA BELLE CHEUNG MENTORS ON BECKETT 16.
Belle is happy to be working with the crew on Beckett 16 for the fourth time-she started in 2012, while mentoring current student Duston Barranow-Watts in his stage management duties.
Her thoughts on her time at UBC:
“I completed my Honours BA in the Department of Theatre and Film in 2012. I have fond memories of my time in the department and learned a lot about theatre – both studying it and doing it; I made lifelong friends. During my degree, I had opportunities to work with UBC Opera (which opened up doors to the Banff Centre and Vancouver Opera), and received the Bill Millerd scholarship offering me my first opportunity to work at the Arts Club.”
“I was fortunate enough to have trained under many stage managers who made extra time to teach and mentor me, and I’m happy to give back and mentor new stage managers about the tricky art of stage management.”
