THEATRE DESIGN AND PRODUCTION ALUMNA FRANCESCA ALBERTAZZI DESIGNS ARE IN THE CURRENT WESTERN LIVING!
Bio – Francesca Albertazzi
Born and raised in Vancouver, Francesca’s love for theatre started early in her life through high school productions, which – she can safely say now – she worked harder on than some classes…! Pursuing her theatre studies at UBC was eye-opening and an incredibly well-rounded experience that taught her more than simple theatre set and costume design skills. As she continued her work in theatre after graduating from UBCTF, she eventually merged into exhibit design and, presently, design for interiors. The lessons learned at the Freddy Wood remained invaluable throughout all the various career changes: managing timelines, creativity within constraints, working collaboratively and – of course: how to tie a clove hitch (thank you Ian Pratt!).
Currently, Francesca and her business partner are running a design and project management firm called Rudy Winston Design which specializes in working with clients to produce thoughtful, well-managed and personal renovations with efficient timelines. So much of what Francesca learned during her four years at UBC goes into every day design decisions and her trusty ‘Backstage Handbook’ is often a go-to for solving many project dilemmas!
