The UBC Players’ Club is accepting submissions for original short play proposals (10-40 mins) in honour of the club’s 2016 centennial. Successful applicants will receive dramaturgical support and script workshops culminating in a full production in 2016.
To apply, send the following to Carolyn Nakagawa at president@ubcplayersclub.com:
- an outline of your proposed play with an explanation of its relevance to the UBC Players’ Club centennial (no more than 2 pages, double spaced);
- expected length, cast size and any special abilities (e.g., playing an instrument); and
- anticipated technical requirements (lighting, sound, set, costumes, etc.);
- a writing sample (preferably an excerpt of a play; may be an excerpt of the proposed play or a previous script), 7-10 pp;
- a CV (no more than one page) of relevant theatre and writing experience.
Submission deadline: Nov. 1.
