The judges felt that her film was among the very best of the several hundreds of films submitted from over 30 countries around the world and deserving of special recognition. Only a maximum of 10 films per competition category are selected to be honored with this prestigious award.
She will be accepting her award in person at the Closing Night Awards Ceremony on March 29th at the Edgewater Casino, downtown Vancouver.

The darkly comic film follows Shirley, a suburban mother living in the 1950s, who is sick of fixing TV dinners and her husband’s ties. As tensions of the nuclear war seep into the family home, she is seen making some drastic changes to her otherwise domestic lifestyle.
