INDIAN ACTS With generous studio support from One Thousand Rivers
The ingredients: 2 artists, an idea, a tight timeline and a studio space. Come see the Full Circle Aboriginal Ensemble in collaboration with local professional artists creating short new works in a limited time. Each pair, who have never worked together before, will create a 10 minute performance after just 10 hours in the studio. Exciting, dynamic, surprising, innovative! Intended to inspire dialogue about collaboration and creative process, a conversation mediated by Lindsay Lachance will follow the performance. This work is inspired by and realized with support from Brief Encounters and Kristina Lemieux.

Tai Amy Grauman
Tai Amy Grauman is a Metis Iroquois and Metis Cree artist originally from Ardrossan Alberta. She is currently in the BFA acting conservatory program at UBC and she is pursuing a double major in First Nations Studies. Tai is an actress, director as well as playwright. She is also an accomplished dancer as well as classical guitarist. Tai is also playwright in residence for the UBC players as well as part of the Gateway Conservatory program and Full Circle First Nations performance ensemble program. She is the 2015 Mayor’s Arts Award for Emerging Artist in Theatre nominated by Margo Kane. In the future she hopes to pursue a Master’s in Directing and then a PhD in Metis theatre.
Lindsay Lachance
Lindsay Lachance, born an urban displaced mixed Canadian and Algonquin Anishnaabekwe is a PhD candidate at the University of British Columbia and has a Masters in Theatre Theory and Dramaturgy from the University of Ottawa. She is a sessional instructor First Nations & Indigenous Studies at UBC. Lindsay is an active theatre professional, reviewer and scholar and has presented her research at six international conferences. Her areas of interest include performance as politics, the physicalization of spirituality in time and space, and the multiple creation processes of Indigenous dramaturgies. Lindsay is a member of Full Circle First Nations Performance and Indigenous Performing Arts Alliance.
