PROFESSOR JACQUELINE FIRKINS DESIGNS FOR CHICAGO’S COURT THEATRE:
Associate Professor in Design and Production Jacqueline Firkins has been working on costume designs for two fall productions for The Court Theatre in Chicago. A new play by Pulitzer Prize winning playwright Michael Christofer called Man in the Ring is based on the true story of six-time world champion boxer Emile Griffith. Man in the Ring charts Emile’s humble beginnings in the U.S. Virgin Islands to his infamous match against his archrival Benny “Kid” Paret.
A new translation/adaptation of Sophocles Electra finishes out a trilogy Jacqueline has been working on for three years with the Court Theatre. They did Iphigenia at Aulis in 2014 and Agamemnon in 2015.
