Three Films about the Moon
2001 A Space Odyssey
Stanley Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey is often considered the best science fiction film ever made. Released almost half a century ago, the movie still seems undated. You may have seen it. You may remember what they found on the far side of the moon. But perhaps equally chilling is the 1989 documentary For All Mankind. There, an astronaut tells us the haunting dream he had one night while sleeping on the moon. Want more? Try Moon. Here a lone industrial worker fulfills a three year contract on the lunar surface. This one is directed by David Bowie’s son, Duncan.
