MFA Candidate in Film Production Rami Katz wins Reel 13 Shorts contest!
Kudos to Rami! His science-themed short documentary, An Exploration of Light, recently won the Reel 13 Shorts contest and will be making its broadcast premiere tomorrow, Saturday, on Thirteen, NYC’s flagship PBS station.

Rami Katz is a Canadian filmmaker living in Vancouver where he is enrolled in the MFA in Film Production program at the University of British Columbia. He was selected to participate at the 2015 RIDM Talent Lab, and received the H. Norman Lidster Prize in Documentary Filmmaking in addition to scholarships from the BC Arts Council and Creative BC. Rami’s short films have received multiple festival screenings, awards and nominations, distribution and TV broadcast. In Vancouver’s film and television industry, Rami has experience as a production manager, assistant director, and editor on a variety of broadcast and award-winning projects including documentary features, lifestyle and animated television series. Rami is a board member of the Documentary Organization of Canada (BC chapter), and an associate member of the Canadian Cinema Editors. He holds a BFA in Film Production from Simon Fraser University.
