Lisa Coulthard assistant curates VAG’s largest installation ever.
UBC Film Studies Associate Professor Lisa Coulthard assistant curates the largest installation the Vancouver Art Gallery has ever had. Coulthard’s main research falls into the areas of film theory and violence and is particularly interested in film sound and violence, contemporary American and European cinemas, continental philosophy and Lacanian theory. Currently writing a book titled The Super Sounds of Quentin Tarantino, she used that knowledge to speak to the MashUp methods in visual culture using Tarantino films Kill Bill Vol. 1 & 2 as examples.
Lisa joins fellow curators at the sold out event on Tuesday, March 1: MashUp: The Birth of Modern Culture. Local contributing curators and writers present dynamic, short presentations on their contributions to MashUp Each talk gives an exciting overview on many of the exhibition’s artists and topics.
