“Bridges”, a short film directed by alum Ian Tan with cinematographer and student, Shiun Okada, was ready to shoot in 2020 with the major challenge of the COVID 19 pandemic.
“A film that’s been in development for about a year, finally decided to come to fruition during the pandemic (July 2-4). It was tricky to shoot, but even trickier to produce, “said Shiun. “It was great to be back on set and to be following guidelines to keep everyone safe.”
“Bridges”, executive produced by the Wakefield Agency, where Ian works as a filmmaker and a core team member, supported the project. The crew and creatives were largely UBC Theatre and Film alum or students with collaborations amongst our various programs: Film Production, Film Studies, Theatre Design and Production, and Acting.

Short Synopsis: 7-year-old James does everything in his power to reconcile his divorced parents. ‘Bridges’ provides a peek into the world of divorce from a child’s perspective.
