PROF. JACQUELINE FIRKINS WINS JESSIE AWARD!
We applaud all the winners at the Jessie Awards last night but extra pride goes to our alumni and faculty on their Jessie wins.
MFA Directing alumna Chelsea Haberlin won for The North Plan (Upintheair Theatre) in the Small Theatre Category.
BFA Design/Production alumna, Laura McLean, won as Director for Outstanding Artistic Creation-Theatre for Young Audiences for Delinquent Theatre’s Our Time. Delinquent Theatre’s production also included alumni Christine Quintana, Mishelle Cuttler, Lauchlin Johnston on the Our Time artistic team.
Design/Production Associate Professor Jacqueline Firkins won for Best Costume Design for Onegin.
We also heartily congratulate the GVPTA Career Achievement Award winner Margo Kane for her huge contribution to the Canadian theatre milieu with her theatre company Full Circle.
Congratulations to all the nominees, winners and, in fact, all artists who bring their stories to the fore to entertain us, educate us, and enrich our lives.
