In 2011, she won the best live action short drama Genie Award for the residential school musical Savage. The film has now screened at over 40 film festivals including Berlinale Forum Expanded, BFI London Film Festival, SXSW and the NYC Children’s Film Festival.
Lauren’s recent productions, the feature film Picture Day and the futuristic short film Frost, both premiered at the 2012 Toronto International Film Festival. Picture Day won the Borsos Competition for Best Film and Best Performance at the Whistler Film Festival. Frost won Best Canadian Short Film at the Edmonton International Film Festival and was nominated for a Canadian Screen Award for Best Live Action Short Film.
Lauren’s current projects include producing a new feature called Wet Bum with Director Lindsay Mackay winner of the first Pinewood Filmmaker Initiative. The cast leads are Gordon Pinsent (The Grand Seduction, Away From Her), Julia Sarah Stone (The Killing) and Craig Arnold (Degrassi). Distribution will be by Search Engine Films.
