Join us for Cinema Salon at UBC Library, where we screen a movie from the Videomatica collection during lunch hour  and then share insights about the featured film with a faculty member from the Department of Theatre and Film.

The first 2 films will be introduced by UBC Cult Film professor Ernest Mathijs. Mathijs has written numerous books on cult films and teaches the world’s first university course on cult film at UBC.
The next one will be introduced by Alessandra Santos, Assistant  Professor of Ibero-American Literatures and Cultures at UBC. She is interested in dialogues between literature and the other arts, new media, global issues, utopias, social justice, indigeneity, gender, and the dichotomy of public and private spaces.
