Theatre at its finest—and most delightfully absurd. Gerald Vanderwoude (MFA ’92) directs Beckett 26 featuring UBC Theatre and Film alumni. Now in its 23rd year, this alumni-organized fundraising event supports the Dr. Errol Durbach, Norman Young, and Dr. Peter Loeffler scholarship funds. Experience selected works by celebrated Irish playwright Samuel Beckett, whose wit and innovations continue to influence contemporary theatre. Come for the theatre and stay for the cake, bubbly, and always spirited discussion! 

Schedule

Each evening honours a beloved late faculty member, with ticket proceeds supporting their corresponding scholarship fund. Errol Durbach, Norman Young, and Peter Loeffler played pivotal roles in shaping the Department of Theatre and Film, inspiring and mentoring generations of alumni.

Ticket Prices 

Beckett 26 is both a celebration and a fundraiser. We offer a sliding ticket scale of $15, $20, and $30 to help keep the event accessible while supporting student scholarships. If you’re able, please consider purchasing a higher-priced ticket.
