We are celebrating our fabulous Film Production alumni and students with our annual party during the Vancouver International Film Festival. Join us Friday, October 6, 5:00pm-8:00pm for hors d’ouevres, reunions, and new meetings at Lux Lounge (1180 Howe Street).
Not only are we tipping our hats to the seven feature films and three shorts that our alumni have created, we are also pleased to announce the resurrection of the Film Production Alumni Association.
Mike Johnston
Film Production alumnus (2017) and Director/Producer Mike Johnston has stepped forward to lead the helm of the association.
From Mike:
“The Film Production Alumni Association is a group made up of alumni spread across the globe shooting, editing, directing, producing and writing. Because of the nature of the business and our international presence, it’s been challenging to have the FPAA be vital. It is my goal for the next year to make the FPAA great again. We intend to have a presence at events throughout the year and we will be working closely with the Persistence of Vision (POV 28) committee to assist and ensure a presence at this year’s event where we screen the BFA Film Production fourth and six third year’s films.
The Vancouver International Film Festival Alumni Party on Friday, October 6, 2017 at Lux Lounge, is the first step in our rebranding process. As per usual, it will be a networking opportunity for alumni and students to converse as well as the incoming students new to the program this year, to network with recent and past alumni for future opportunities. This year, UBC is represented at VIFF with many entries in both the feature and shorts categories and we hope that you can enjoy some of these wonderful films.”
