Ensemble Theatre Summer Repertory Festival features UBC alumni and present students on stage, in production and in the Director’s chair July 13-August 18, at the Jericho Arts Centre.
Presenting In the Next Room by Sarah Ruhl, A Prayer for Owen Meany by Simon Bent, and Master Class by David Pownall, Mariam Barry and Francis Winter are acting in the ensemble; Evan Frayne is directing the Master Class while Keltie Forsyth directs In the Next Room; and Shelby Bushell, Lauchlin Johnston, Patrick Smith, Sammie Hatch, Simon Hayama, Ryan Yee, Madeleine Molgat Laurin have designed, stage managed or worked as a crew member in the productions. Our theatre programs in our department are well represented: BFA Acting, MFA Directing, BFA Theatre Design and Production.
Keltie Forsyth directs the Pulitzer Prize for Drama nominated In the Next Room by Sarah Ruhl. Her thesis show was also by Sarah Ruhl, a stunning production of Eurydice. Keltie also joins us in our 17/18 season directing She Kills Monsters by Qui Nguyen January 18 – February 3, 2018.
