About

Cam Cronin serves as the Administrator for the Department of Theatre and Film and oversees all five of the programs (Acting/Directing, Cinema Studies, Design & Production, Film Production, and Theatre Studies.)  He is responsible for tasks like the department budget, building and system access, keys, office spaces, and is pretty good at jimmying locks. If you have a paid position in our unit, chances are that you will be chatting with him in regards to getting paid correctly, accessing a system, or finding out where you were supposed to be five minutes ago. He works remotely on Mondays and Wednesdays, but otherwise you’ll find him in the Frederic Wood Admin wing, attached to the theatre, up on the second floor, where there is almost always chocolate.

Cam is a proud graduate of the UBC Theatre and Film program, back in the days before HD television or LED Theatre lights.  As a recovering Actor, he has appeared in over 30 films and television series, and has a long history of working on local indie films.  He spent many years as a content creator, educator and public programmer at the HR MacMillan Space Centre, and his party trick is mentioning that he has met all of our Canadian astronauts. He joined the Theatre and Film department in 2013. He spends as much time as possible with his wife, two kids, and their strangely short dog.  In his spare time, he builds things, fixes old cars, gardens, and surfs.
