Current studies: MA in Cinema and Media Studies
Michael is a first-year MA student in UBC’s Cinema and Media Studies program. His SSHRC-funded research is in the realm of philosophy of film, specifically examining the use of film as philosophical thought experiment in the work of Yorgos Lanthimos. He is also interested in the depiction of religious cults in film and TV, auteur theory, and Canadian cinema. Michael received his BA from UBC in 2020, with a double major in Film Studies and Philosophy. He has also received a Diploma in Film Production from Vancouver Film School (2012).
