 em> is a captivating Ghanaian adaptation of the timeless tale of <em>Oedipu
 s Rex</em>\, blending traditional elements such as storytelling\, music\, a
 nd dance with Western theatrical dialogue. Set in the Etnasa Kingdom\, once
  thriving but now in turmoil\, the play follows King Musu's desperate quest
  to uncover the source of a sudden crisis. To his dismay\, he discovers tha
 t he himself is to blame\, triggering a confrontation with the strict penal
 ties he had set for the culprit.</p><p>Receiving its Canadian premiere (and
  the first African production produced by UBC Theatre and Film)\, <em>King 
 Musu</em> celebrates the rich tradition of African reinterpretations of cla
 ssical Greek theatre. Through this innovative approach\, the play aims to h
 ighlight their relevance in today's world and explore their impact on audie
 nces of diverse cultural backgrounds in Vancouver\, Canada. Join us for an 
 immersive journey into the vibrant fusion of cultures and narratives in thi
 s ground-breaking production.</p><p>This project is made possible through U
 BC's <a href="https://www.grad.ubc.ca/psi" target="_blank" rel="noopener no
 referrer">Public Scholar's Initiative</a> (PSI). PSI support UBC doctoral s
 tudents whose research extended beyond the academy\, and beyond traditional
  disciplinary approaches\, to have a tangible impact for the public good th
 rough collaborative\, action-oriented\, and/or creative forms of scholarshi
