Policies

You or your production may only sign up for 2 hours per day.
Season or Graduate Directing Productions and Faculty may book longer times, as required.

You may stay longer than two hours, provided no one else shows up to use the room, but you may only book for 2 hours. If someone shows up at the two hour mark you must vacate the room.

If you are more than 5 minutes late for the rehearsal that you have signed up for, you forfeit the first half hour of your booking, You must then wait until the next half hour before interrupting the rehearsal in progress, e.g.

  • you are supposed to start rehearsing at 2pm;
  • someone else has booked the room up till 2pm;
  • your arrive at 2:15 pm. If the other party is still rehearsing, you must wait until 2:30pm before you can interrupt their rehearsal.

How to Make a Booking

  • sign up on the bulletin boards at the Theatre Program Office (Room 207 in the Frederic Wood Theatre Building) OR in the case of the BC Binning Rehearsal Rooms on the bulletin board outside of BCB Room 128. The sheets are posted after 2:00 PM Fridays for the following Monday – Sunday.
  • please note, only faculty can book with Jay in advance via telephone or email;
  • please sign up in pencil only;
  • your full name and phone number must be legible;
  • if you book more than two hours, the latter half of the booking will be erased;
  • rooms must be left in a clean state;
  • no food or drink is allowed in any of the rooms (water is permitted).

Please be considerate of others when checking to see if a rehearsal has finished. Wait for a break in the rehearsal to inform the party you are ready to take over the room. When your time is up check to see if someone is waiting to take over the space.

Bookings are only allowed for CLASS PROJECTS; outside projects MAY ONLY use the room with faculty permission and faculty supervision.

How to Make a Booking

Every Friday afternoon at 3pm, the schedule for the following week will be posted outside the classroom. You or your production may sign up for a MAXIMUM of 6 hours per day, one week ahead, by signing up in person. MFA’s and BFA’s in production may book longer times and further in advance, but require faculty permission.

Please note, only faculty or MFA’s can book with the Film Production Secretary in advance via telephone or email; a minimum of two weeks notice is required. Bookings will be considered in order of their arrival.

Anyone may view the on-line calendar for the rooms, in order to aid planning, but the calendar posted is the final schedule as of Friday afternoon, til the following Thursday.

When signing up, in person:

  • please sign up in pencil only;
  • your full name, production name, class name (i.e. FIPR 234) email and phone number must be legible;
  • if you book more than 6 hours, the latter half of the booking will be erased.

You may stay longer than six hours, provided no one else shows up to use the room, but you may only book for 6 hours. If someone needs the room at the six-hour mark, you must vacate the room.

Policies

Please be considerate of others when checking to see if the previous user has finished. Wait for a break in their process to inform the party you are ready to take over the room. When your time is up, check to see if someone is waiting to take over the space.

  • you arrive at 2:15 pm. If the other party is still working, you must wait until 2:30pm before you can interrupt their use of the room.

Other Conditions of Use

  • rooms must be left in a clean state;
  • all windows and exterior doors must be closed and latched shut;
  • no food or drink is allowed in any of the rooms (water is permitted).
